"Deep Thought, tell us the answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything!"
What ever happened to having deep thoughts? I haven't posted in a while because I couldn't think of anything of substance to write about. I don't have original deep thoughts enough. It's one of those things you lose with your youth, kind of like your creativity. Or maybe you still have the same creative ideas and deep thoughts but you don't remember them because they don't strike you as creative or deep anymore. I think partly we just get dumber and more complacent as we get older, but maybe part of it is that things just don't seem new anymore.
I remember when I was younger.. not REAL little.. but like the junior high and high school era.. I would hear jokes or funny anecdotes and I got them.. I realized they were funny.. but I wouldn't laugh at them. Like, okay, I get it. But it's not worth laughing at. I'd heard too many jokes just like it.
My parents and their friends on the other hand would be ROLLING. They were just SO AMUSED! And I couldn't believe how amused they were. I was just thinking like, "Haven't they heard something similar to that a million times more than even I have? Surely!" But no, they would laugh their collective buttocks off. I tried to think of reasons for this.. it had to have something to do with their age. Maybe.. they forgot that they've heard jokes just like it a thousand times already. Like they just can't remember the instances when they've laughed at jokes like that or made jokes like that before already. Or maybe they just become more and more childlike the older they get. I think it's the latter.
I think I was more adult and intelligent as a child, I just didn't have the experiences to make me all the way mature. And now that I have the maturity (somewhat), I've become less adult-like. Except for the sexual stuff of course. That situation only gets worse. It's the pleats!

Dear blogger,
A confession.
I smell.
And I have a lustful affair with peanutbutter.
Also, I enjoy knitting.
Yours truly,
Benjamin Reeder
